Vata'd Out?

How are feeling lately? Any sense of overwhelm – confusion -  scattered – like you can’t keep track of your keys or the pen you were just writing with? Do you feel a little less grounded and little more stressed? If so, you are right in line with the Fall season.
Fall in all its blustery gorgeousness is Vata season. Vata is one of the doshas outlined in Ayurveda, yoga’s sister science. The doshas are qualities / life energies that make up our constitution.
Vata, along with Pitta and Kapha, represent the three doshas. While their qualities are each unique, we might have a little of each represented in our make-up. Typically, however, one or two of them tend to be more predominant.
 Vata is linked with air – it’s light, crisp, always moving, and because of this it can get out of balance easily. You can read more about it here.
In my classes this month, we have been working on some ways to balance Vata so we feel more grounded, more centered, and more in the flow – all the wonderful ways a balanced Vata dosha should allow us to feel.
