Need some space?

Two weeks ago we were away on vacation. It was so lovely to have a few days free from the have-tos of day-to -day real life. While it was the same 24 hours that we always have, our intention in how we used them was very different. We chose what activities we wanted to do and when we wanted to do them, leaving us space in the schedule and time to rest, relax, and play,
Even though were in a city I found myself much less noisy – I didn’t look at a computer for 5 days; I only looked at my phone maybe 2 or 3 times a day, and when I did it was just to make sure everything with was okay at home and with Soupy. The external “noise” of computers and phones was gone, and my internal noise was quite quiet. In that quiet, I found space – space for nothing, space for new ideas, space to just hang out and be, space for more space – it was so freeing and nourishing.
I’m curious as I enter these last few weeks before school begins how I can maintain some of that spaciousness: where can I unplug from technology, where can I incorporate more play, where can I allow for more rest, how can I create the environment for inner quiet to arise?
What do you do during the week to cultivate space and invite play, rest, quiet? Email me, I’d love to know!
Check out my schedule of classes and videos for more movement practices!
