You know what I think is interesting? That in over 20 years of teaching yoga, no one has ever said to me that Savasana (final rest pose) was too long.  We all need rest.  It’s vital to our well-being.  Rest supports our immune system, our nervous system, along with our brain health and function.

When we consciously rest, like we do in Savasana, we allow ourselves to switch from the sympathetic aspect of our nervous system (active, fight-flight) being dominant to the parasympathetic aspect of our nervous system (rest and digest) being dominant.  This should be our default, with the ability to toggle with ease between active when we need to and back to rest.

So, take a pause from reading this, and click here and join me for 5 minutes of Savasana. You won’t regret it!

Check out my classes here and let's move together!
