super excited for this week's Bliss Bite, which comes from one of our YB
community members. She emailed me last week about tension in her tongue - which
she called a "stressed tongue."
an expert on tongues or mouth/tongue positioning, but I have read some
interesting information on it. It seems like the best place to rest the tongue
is toward the roof of the mouth – with the tip of the tongue on the roof just
behind, but not touching, your top teeth, (like you were saying the letter “n”)
and the back of the tongue up as well toward the roof of the mouth. From what I
understand this positioning can help with head, teeth and jaw positioning, tmj,
swallowing, singing and more. Again, I’m not an expert but I’m interested in
all that, I do think it’s important to notice when and where we are carrying
stress, so if it feels like your tongue is tight or tense, or your jaw is
clenched, check out this video
for a few things you can try to
relieve some of that tension.
